Back Pain

I’ve Got Your Back – a yoga class for easing back pain.  You don’t have to be flexible. Just come, move, and rest. We will use meditation for awareness, movement for relaxation, postures for mobility and bouncy balls for self massage.  Every Wednesday 5:30 – 7:00pm

Back Pain is a leading cause of disability. It’s one of the most common reasons people seek therapeutic advice, whether that be a GP, Physical Therapist, or a Yoga Practitioner. The good news, you can take measures to prevent, or relieve, most back pain; and yoga is a great place to start.

Yoga provides you with specific strengthening exercises, stretching, and relaxation. You’ll gain better body awareness developing healthy postures, restored body alignment, and an increased sense of balance.

Let’s not forget the accompanying benefits of yoga, and that’s the positive mental adaptations that take place. There is a strong belief that Back Pain can have greater impact when negative psychological or emotions exist. In fact high stress and negative emotions may even cause back pain. The meditational properties of yoga and breathing, while holding various poses, increases the flow of oxygen to the brain in a rhythmical fashion. This practice can have great impact on reducing stress and elevating mood.
